PyCon JP 2026 Official Party
The official party will be held on the evening of the Day 1 of the conference (Friday, August 21) at "Himawari" inside International Conference Center Hiroshima.
Registration is required at PyCon JP 2026 Official Party.
Sprints
Sprints are practical sessions where like-minded individuals with interests in shared projects or themes come together to collaborate on activities such as development. At PyCon JP 2026, we will be offering three official themes, including open-topic sessions and a tutorial for beginners, to create a day where everyone from beginners to experienced participants can turn the inspiration gained at the conference into their next step.

Open Space
Open Space is a session where participants propose topics on the spot and engage in free-flowing discussions with others who share their interests. With no pre-determined themes or speakers, it is a casual and vibrant forum for interaction where unexpected encounters and new ideas can emerge.

Lightning Talks (LT) ‘Okonomi Talks’
Okonomi Talks are a series of 5-minute Lightning Talks designed for everyone at the venue to enjoy together in a lively atmosphere, much like Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Speakers are selected via real-time voting by participants from among the talks submitted on the day, giving everyone the chance to take to the stage.

Takashi Kitao Book Sale, Signing Session, and Technical Book Showcase
PyCon JP 2026 keynote speaker Takashi Kitao, creator of the Python retro game engine Pyxel, will sell and sign copies of Learn Python Through Games! Getting Started with Retro Game Programming Using Pyxel (Gijutsu-Hyoron Co., Ltd.), which he co-authored and supervised.
Book Sale and Signing

- Location: Special event space at the rear of the Sakura room, International Conference Center Hiroshima
- Payment: Cash or PayPay
Copies are limited and may sell out. Please follow the organizing team’s instructions if a queue forms.
Technical Book Showcase
Throughout the conference, sample books on Python and programming will be available to browse at the special booth in the Sakura room. Featured publishers include:
- Gijutsu-Hyoron Co., Ltd.
- SHOEISHA Co., Ltd.
- O’Reilly Japan, Inc.
All featured books are Japanese-language publications.
Complimentary bookmarks, created independently by members of the organizing team, will also be available while supplies last.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
During PyCon JP 2026, attendees can view the permanent exhibition at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum for free.
- Applicable period: August 21 (Fri) – August 25 (Tue)
- Please present your PyCon JP 2026 name tag upon entry.
- Admission to the permanent exhibition area will be free of charge.
For early and late admission only — advance reservation required
To manage crowding, entry during the first and last hour of the day (7:30-8:30 and 18:30-19:30, respectively) is by advance reservation only; only those with reservations may enter. Free reservations can be made at the website below. Select the permanent exhibitions admission for $1.29 and in the section that appears choose 'Tour guide (exemption of admission fee)'.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
If entering during a reserved time slot, please show your PyCon JP 2026 name tag and proof of your online ticket purchase to the museum staff, and scan your online ticket at the scanner located in front of the escalator leading to the third floor.
